Substitute Teachers

Substitute teachers step in to support a classroom with Lead teachers who are out sick or take a well-deserved vacation. Substitute teachers should have a desire to support children’s learning, follow all state mandates, and be patiently tender with children. Substitute teachers must be comfortable taking initiative, guiding a classroom with respect, and follow all CDC policies.

Lead Teachers

Lead Teachers work in co-teaching teams to nurture the hearts and inspire the minds of early learners. They are responsible for providing high quality, developmentally appropriate care as defined by NAEYC standards, for fostering a sense of community within the CDC, and for crafting and implementing emergent curriculum based on their classroom’s interests and ability levels.

Master Teachers

A Master Teacher ideally has a graduate degree in early childhood education and development, three or more years as an Infant/Toddler teacher, and three or more years as a Preschool Teacher. Master Teachers spend the majority of their time teaching in an early childhood classroom setting. Additional duties include recruiting and training student employees, leading curriculum and assessment for multiple classrooms, as well as supervising junior teachers.
